hollywood "it girl" (ugh, i really hate that term) lupito n'yongo graces one of the five covers for the may issue of marie claire.
FABULOUS.

she shares cover honors with kate mara, elle fanning, emilia clarke, and elizabeth olsen.
the other girls are of course fresh faced and pretty, but there's just something about miss lupita.
flawlessssssss.
(and is it just me, or do the rest of these chickies look like they haven't slept in a few days?? just saying...)

old school tune of the day...

it looks like it's just going to be slap happy tunes today, folks.
(need a little inspiration? cause i sure as hell do!)
if this song doesn't make you strap on your lee/guess/jordache/etc 80s pants and start dancing like a damn fool, then nothing will.

sir rod stewart.
"young turks".

you. are. welcome.
a.

what we're listening to...

"tightrope" by walk the moon has been on repeat in the office (and in my head) for at least a week now...

AMAZING.

ok, it's admission time.
just a little obsessed with martial arts movies these days.
and this one is certain to not disappoint.
"the raid 2" puts undercover cop rama in prison to uncover the corruption within his own police force.
let the chaos (and fight sequences) ensue!
and with villains with names like "hammer girl" and "baseball bat man", how can you go wrong?!?!

"the raid 2" opens in limited release tomorrow...and yes, we are going to see it.
is there a better way to spend a rainy day in new york city??
a.

(hopefully very soon!)

a.

in case you missed it...

i usually hate commercials, but...

this is a good one.
ricky gervais. and the sweet, lovely things people say about him.

actually, audi is on a roll.
i think the last ad i dropped on here was the audi "spocks playing golf" spot.

enjoy ~
a.

your first look...

wait a minute.
i've seen this one.

wasn't it called "john tucker must die"??
or maybe "first wives club"??
no hang on..."the women". maybe that was it.

see a pattern here??
they should just all be called "insipid women with no self esteem plan revenge on the man who is cheating on all of them. which would never happen since most chicks are girl haters and bitches."
catchy!

this steaming piece of tired shit hits theaters april 25th.
y'all sad sacks have fun with this one. i'll be at the lego movie.
AGAIN.

kevin bacon was a guest on the tonight show last night, and let's just say he KILLED IT.
after jimmy fallon decrees that dancing has been banned at nbc, well, you can guess what happens next.
cue the music...

30 years later, the 80's dancing rebel has still got it.

enjoy ~
a.

Thursday, March 20, 2014

are you listening?!?!

keaton henson has an AMAZING voice.

and "to your health" is a haunting, glorious piece of music.
so reminiscent of the late, great jeff buckley.

"here's to you, you miserable fuck."
has anyone ever made that phrase sound so incredibly beautiful?!?!
i am sure we've all been there at one point in life...
thank you to andy, our apprentice of music, for keeping the old people in the know ;)

what we're listening to...

i'm sure the new, improved, mary sunshine bullshit will get old.
VERY SOON.

until then, here's another sugary sweet little ditty to get you moving.
(and unfortunately for y'all, all of the happy happy joy joy is here to stay. so get the fuck over it already.)
now get your head out of your ass, remember that it ain't so bad, and enjoy the sunshine.
a.

and the oscar goes to...

the 85th annual academy awards were held last night in hollywood.

and lord child, the stars were definitely in attendance.
there were very few surprises in the winners circle...

mcconaughey, blanchett, n'yongo, and leto continued their winning streaks for actor, actress and supporting.
"gravity" took home most of the visual awards, as well as a director nod for that precious alfonso cuaron.

(and i must admit while i didn't so much like "gravity", my butt was clenched the ENTIRE FILM. it truly is visually remarkable.)

and if you couldn't stay awake long enough and missed it, best picture honors went to "12 years a slave".
now yours truly was far too hormonal to watch "12 years a slave" this weekend, but i am going to try to get through it today.
without slitting my wrists.

congrats, y'all!
a.

quote of the night...

"You can fondle it if you want to. Pass it around. But if you have swine flu, please don't touch. I bet this is the first time someone has given away their Oscar for an orgy in the press room."
                -- jared leto,
after his supporting actor win for "dallas buyers club"...
(he really is MESMERIZING in that film.)

let's face it. this boy is still crush worthy.
even if he did "allegedly" make out with miley cyrus.
a.

(image via ny daily news.)

one more time, for the cheap seats...

just in case some of y'all missed it the first time.
many of you little bunnies seem to be down in the dumps lately.
so i'm bringing this one back on a monday morning in an attempt to cheer you.
turn it up, shake your booties.
and don't let the bastards get you down!
love y'all.

Tuesday, February 25, 2014

seriously...

there's a reason it's been #1 since its release!

in a sea of depressing, heavy as hell oscar nominees (dallas buyers club, august: osage county, and 12 years a slave sure ain't got a lot of laughs happening), "the LEGO movie" is a happy-go-lucky, visually amazing gem.
it's fun for kids, it's funny for adults.
and yes, everything is AWESOME.

trees. frogs. clogs.
they're AWESOME.

if you can make it out of this one without smiling, it's time to seek professional help my friend.

get to it. IMMEDIATELY!
a.

Saturday, February 22, 2014

in case you missed it...

jimmy fallon is having a STELLAR first week as the host of the tonight show!

enjoy ~
