sadness...

joy johnson, the oldest female to complete the NYC marathon on sunday, died hours after finishing the race.
she was 86.
at around mile 20 of the 26.2 mile run, johnson fell and hit her head. she was taken to a first aid tent, but insisted on finishing the race.
sunday's run was her 25th consecutive appearance in the marathon.
she even managed to make it the next morning to the "today" show, where she has made more than a decade of post-race appearances.
she died later in her sleep at her hotel.

"We're all stunned and sad but in a way, when you talk to a lot of people who knew her, this is the way she wanted to go," her daughter said.
you, my dear, are a badass.
RIP.
