never forget...

this picture was taken on august 11, 2001.
it was my first trip to new york.
and my only trip to the world trade center.
no one could have imagined what would happen one month later.
to all of those who lost their lives that day...and all of the brave men and women who ran directly into the flames to help those in need. we honor and salute you.

RIP.

this says it all...

quite the experiment in social media...gone haywire.

jimmy kimmel revealed on his show last night that the youtube video of the girl twerking and catching fire was a hoax...and he is the one who duped y'all!
the original clip has already received over 9 MILLION views.
jeezy kreezy.
i wonder if the ladies of the view or kathie lee and hoda spent as much time on syria as they did on this one...
a.

interesting...

i must admit...

we are just catching up on the first season of morgan spurlock's "inside man."
the cnn documentary style show follows spurlock as he takes on issues such as unions, drought, and elder care.
this particular episode, about medical marijuana, is one of his best.
thanks, lynnie, for turning us on to this one!
a.

BOOM.

dang, girl.

there is one bitch you don't want to piss off in the fashion world.
and that bitch is miss anna wintour.
it seems that one miley cyrus was slated to grace the cover of vogue's december issue.
and then that whole vma thing happened.
and ms. wintour was not amused.
and one little girl lost said december cover.
via the daily mail...
"Anna found the whole thing distasteful," a source told the British paper. "She decided, based on Miley's performance, to take the cover in a different direction."

stay classy, babay!

this just in...

robin quivers has finally revealed the reason behind her recent absence from the howard stern show.

on yesterday's broadcast, quivers revealed that she has been absent from the show since last year due to a battle with cancer.
even howard got a little emotional, confessing that when he found out, "i gotta be honest, i thought she was a goner."
he also admitted that he wouldn't do the show if something happened to his robin.
you know, people want to think that howard stern is the devil. i have a feeling he is a big old softie. and loyal as hell.
congrats to robin...glad to hear you're on the mend, babay!!!

is it coincidence?

i think not.
what the hell!?!?!
so sara bareilles is out with a new single, "brave."

and katy perry is out with a new single, "roar."

is it just me, or do these songs sound awfully similar?!?!
not only is the tune almost the same, but the theme of the songs as well?!?!
and both videos are stupid, to boot!
jeezy kreezy.
i'm going with the thief being tits magee on this one...

you decide.

which doesn't hurt, of course...

a.

your first look...

ted theodore logan has decided to take his turn behind the camera.

keanu reeves will be making his directorial debut this fall with "man of tai chi", the story of a young martial artist, played by tiger chen, who is recruited by reeves (yes, honey, he's acting too!) to fight in an underground fight club.
the film re-teams reeves with chen, who was his martial arts trainer and stuntman for the matrix trilogy.

"man of tai chi" hits theaters november 1st.

finish him!
hahaha...
a.

it was inevitable...

and the backlash begins...
just days after the announcement that dakota johnson and charlie hunnam had landed the coveted roles of anastasia steele and christian grey in the upcoming movie adaptation of "50 shades of grey", an online petition has been started asking the film's producers to recast the roles.
as of today, the petition on change.org had more than 20,000 names on it.
the people's picks?
alexis bledel and matt bomer.

if you have no hobbies and nothing better to do, sign the petition here.
or you could do something useful, like taking up knitting.

you just can't please all the people all the time...

what will they think of next?!?!

ok, so i wasn't going to say anything about miley cyrus and her performance at the vma's...

but this is too utterly random not to share.
enjoy ~
a.

Monday, September 2, 2013

drum roll, please.

and the parts of anastasia steele and christian grey go to...
charlie hunnam and dakota johnson!

hunnam is best known for his role as jax teller on the fx hit drama "sons of anarchy."
johnson, whose parents are melanie griffith and don johnson, was most recently seen in the cancelled fox series "ben & kate".
i'm sure all of the "50 shades of grey"ers will be in an uproar.
the film adaptation of the popular erotic novel will hit theaters august 1st, 2014.

sadness...

sir david frost has died of a heart attack.
he was 74.

the veteran british broadcaster died saturday night on the queen elizabeth cruise ship.
frost, whose career spanned 50 years, is best known for his 1977 interviews with richard nixon, three years after the former president has resigned amid the watergate scandal.

these  unprecedented talks inspired the 2008 oscar nominated film, "frost/nixon", starring michael sheen as frost and frank langella as nixon.
frost leaves behind his wife carina and three sons.
RIP...

yes, we did it.

we got wine tipsy and let lynnie talk us into listening to one direction.
this shit is contagious as hell!
not afraid to admit it either.
just go hop around your house already and stop worrying about your bills, the yard, etc.
it's a holiday weekend after all!

you going to see the movie?
morgan spurlock directing a documentary on one of the biggest boy bands in the world?
i don't know...many think he has sold out, but it could be interesting. or cheesy. or brilliant!

who's in?!?!
